Two emerald pools suddenly lit up the shdows surrounding the clearing as a wolf pushed his muzzle through the bushes. He stood quite still for a moment, soaking up the atmosphere, occuli absorbing the surroundings in which he had placed himself.
Bullet had been drawn to the clearing from the second cave by sounds of pained screams and growls, which he presumed were merely the sounds of a succesful hunt. He had thought he could be of service to the alphas by aiding the long haul to drag the kill up to the mothers, per'aps, he had thought, that would take his mind off the searing pain of a heart hanging between broken and fulfilled.
He soon realised, however, that this was no normal hunt. His emerald gaze soon found Lakota lying on the floor, and in less than a second he ahd realised what had happened. The femme was dead, lying with blood staining the grass around her, and two mourners by her side. Bullet then glanced at the dead elk and sighed. Cause of death. He thought grimly, before stepping out of the shadows.
His features were grim and set as he padded over to the once lead hunter and haulted before her. Without a glance to Keeper or Cloud, he dipped his head in respect and silently prayed that the female would be accepted into the great pack of the dead.
Once he ahd paid his respects, he turned silently to the alpha and bowed his head once more, although 'twas a much more shallow bow. He smiled sadly at Cloud and then reclined upon his haunches, auds layed flat against his skull.

Cloud swiped at her orbs with her paw and smiled at Bullet, if a little sadly.
"Hello," she said queitly. "Who are you?"

Eyes wide, Breeze appeared, from where she had been watching Strider devour his meal a ways away. Her heart seemed to slide sickeningly into her stomach, and she howled, with pain, sadness, loss, fury, anger, and love. She hadn't known Lakota long... but she liked the fae. Now she was gone... not murdered like her former pack... but still dead and gone. One by one, each that she cared for was leaving her forever. Who would be next?
Her eyes filled with pain, her form was crumpled as she dragged her feet to the others. "No... Lakota... I'm so sorry. This is my fault, I should have been here to help. No no no!" Breeze whispered, then realized Strider was appearing from the bushes.
She quickly ran to him, and planted herself in front of him. "Strider, please don't come closer. Trust me, and don't look." Breeze softly told him.

Keeper shifted uneasily from stilt to stilt, his eyes locked on Lakota's body. He was caught in a flurry of emotions: despair, anger, grief, guilt. It was agony as the grey brute stood there. A silver tear glinted down his cheek.
He paid no attention to the others that had surrounded him. He wanted to run, to scream. He blinked hard, trying to surpress a cry. A strangled scream escape him.

Breeze sighed, heart ripping, but she knew she needed to save grief for later.
"Come Keeper." she softly said, looking at him sadly. "We must tell the pack. The young ones are hungry, and so are the mothers. We need to be strong for now, we need you to be strong."
Her orbs looked into Keeper's, clear, calm, and understanding. She gazed at him, knowing how hard this was. "If you want, I shall inform the pack, and I can certainly bring the meat to the hungry." Breeze added quietly.

Keeper turned and gaped at Breeze, his mind in a whirl.
How can she be so calm? Of course! She didn't see someone die, she didn't send someone to their death.
He bit his tongue to prevent a flurry of hateful words pour out as anger siezed him: he was angry at himself for sending Lakota to an early death.
Tears glimmered in his eyes as he shook his head slowly towards Breeze. "You take meat to the other wolves, and call them here. I need...." he trailed off. What do I need?
"I need to see my Taint." he finished.
As he turned to run, he caught a glimpse of Lakota's body, and he could hear the call of the ravens as they surved the scene. I just can't leave her body here for the crows to scavenge at. He thought angrily, baring his teeth threatengly at them. He slowly made his way to Lakota's body and licked her maw.
"I'll take you somewhere safe, love." he said, choking on his own words.
Gently, he lowered his head by the middle of her back and pushed his nose under her. He creapt foward and his stomach until her body was on his back.
He turned and faced the others, his alpha-composure returning.
"But first, I must find a place for her body to rest."
Not caring whether the others followed, he turned and slowly made his way towards the grave of the Moors....

"Bullet Scarlet."
The brute stated briefly, his voice soft, deeming it disrespectful to talk for too long or too loudly at a scene of death. H smiled, however, at the females polite attitude, before turning to Breeze.
"I can help you carry the meat."
He said in the same hushed tone he had used before. He turned his head briefly to watch Keeper go, the dead Lakota draped over his back, and released a deep sigh. He then made towards the kill, pausing mid-stride to see if Breeze would accept his help offer.

Breeze sighed sadly, knowing that Keeper wouldnt see past her calm. But she knew she had to be strong, for the other wolves. She listened to Bullet, then quietly nodded. "Yes, it would be good of you to help me. I would like that. Breeze responded.
Then, she frowned, and softly said "We must let the other wolves know as well."

Bullet smiled and nodded, slightly bewildered by Breeze's sudden howl. With a small shurg, he turned and trotted towards the dead meat, occuli filled with hatred as he glared at the dead carcass which had killed the lead hunter. He was sure that the pack would take delight in ripping it to shreds this afternoon.
Grasping teh caribou by the nape, he began to tug, but it only moved an inch before the sheer weight of it stopped the male in his tracks, causing him t pant heavily. He took hold of it again and awaited Breeze's arrival. 'Twould be hard work even with two able bodied wolves tugging the carcass to the nursing mothers.

Breeze grew quiet, then grinned sheepishly at Bullet. She laughed at herself. She trotted over, grinning at Bullet. She grabbed the carcass, shoving any distracting thoughts to the back of her mind. She hefted up the meat, and started pulling. She was in her prime, and very strong. She could easily pull her on weight. She growled at the meat, grinning at Bullet, even with a full mouth.
She started pulling the meat away, then stopped and waited for Bullet to start pulling.

Bullet started at Breeze's amazing strength. It was quite out of the ordinary for a wolf - a female wolf at that - to be able to pull a carcass that heavy with such ease. Grinning at her with admiration, he lifted the nape again and began to heave, the carcass inching slowly along the ground, making a loud rustling noise as it went.
