((Okay. . .Bandarra just got headbutted by Carmine and fell over cause he was watching Cloud as she approached them. That was the post I made yesterday before this old board got deleted))
The brujo o' Mexican heritage flipped to his back, exposing his snow hued belly to Carmine, matching plume beating madly. "Truce! Truce! I give!" He was panting not from the heat but more from happiness. By now Cloud had walked up to them and spoken.
Bandy twisted back to his mitts, standing up, tassel lowered in submission to a higher ranking wolf and mulled her words in his mind. "Windrunner?" He repeated after the white fae, orbs flicking all directions as if he was thinking hard about something. "No. . .never heard the name. . ." His voice trailed, and his orbs rested on Carmine wondering if she knew Cloud's brother.
((It is brother right? I wish the posts hadn't been deleted!))

Carmine laughed heartily as she gazed down at the comical wolf lying at her paws, his plume beating. The waving tail called to her own and it began to sway too, wagging wildly from side to side, shaking her whole rump. She stood back as Bandarra stood up and, for the first time, noticed that Cloudshadow had spoken. She had been to caught up in her new companion to notice. Turning to the white femme, she lowered her tail as well, her auds flattening. When Bandy turned to her she shrugged and shook her head.
"Me neither," she said, then, turning to Cloud, added: "Apologies, m'lady."

Cloud smiled, she knew it probably was impossible to get news of him on her first try. "That's all right. I didn't really expect you to know. But really, I am curious about where you came from. Do you mind if I ask, I mean?" She blushed underneath her white fur. "I'm sorry. I'm probably not making any sense at all. What I mean is, would you tell me a little of where you came from?" Cloud tipped her head, and moved to stand beside Carmine and Bandarra. ((and yeah it is her brother. if anybody was in icy embers, you might remember him from there. you know, the cranky wanderer? ;D ;D )) that looks cool...*sits and stares at it for a while*

((The smilies are talking to meee. . . must stop looking!))
"Erm. . ." Bandarra cleared his throat, ne'er taking his lead tinted gaze from Carmine. He spoke first the last time. . .answering the Hunter before him's question about her brother. He wanted to hear a bit of the red fae's history himself.
:: I remember red wolves from the swamp. . .but they were more bulky, not like Carmine at all. And grey wolves are the ones that make up most of this pack. I know I'm a mexican wolf. . .I wonder how many different wolves there are?:: Bandy remembered, whilst chewing his tongue. He had quite the good memory, he retained much of everything ever said to him.
Gaze flicked from Carmine to Cloud and back. The brujo of snow, sand, and tar wanted to hear Carmine's story first.

Carmine glanced to Bandarra, ony to find him looking expectantly at her. She chewed her tongue for a minute, then settled upon slender auben haunches and began to talk, her gaze clouding over as she lost herself in distant memories.
"Over three years ago now, I was born into the Barren Plains wolf pack. My parents were ordinary wolves, but very kind. Both were hunters, and very good at their job...." Her eyes began to swim with tears suddenly and her voice tapered off into a soft whine of pain. The red wolf shut her eyes for a moment, and when she opened them the sadness had been harnessed and she could continue. "I lived a happy childhood, growing up with many other pups of my age. I was particulary close to the pups of the alpha. Leo, Virgo and Crimson were there names. Virgo and I were inseperable, Crimson was like a guardian watching over us and Leo....." She trailed off again and smiled, a sad smile. "Leo and I were to be mates. I was young, and so was he. Just over one year old. I was so happy. I was to become the future alphess of the Barren Plains pack, with a loyal.... if a bit gruff mate by my side." Her face had lifted now, a broad smile streched across her maw. Then, her features darkened and she hung her head.
"But it was not to be. The very next day after Leo had asked to be my mate, mutiny broke out. The betas of the pack had gathered a group of treacherous mongrels and was trying to overthrow the alpha." She paused quickly and growled, her tail lashing back and forth at the thought of her old betas. "The alpha female told Leo, Crimson, Virgo and I to flee, and take the weaker of the pack with us. We did so, and the battle raged on behind us. We were a wretched group, but we made it to the edge of our territory and hid, waiting for our alphas and the more able wolves to find us. But they never came. We waited for days, and each day Leo became gruffer and more distant. After five suns had risen and set, we decided to move on. "We travelled for moons, ne'er knowing where to go, ne'er knowing when we would get there. Leo was no longer the wolf I had fallen in love with, and many of our number had perished." Carmine gritted her teeth for a moment, re-grouping herself before continuing in a low, sad voice. "Then a storm struck. We were far away from lands we knew, in territory more like this. We'd never faced such a storm. Lashing rain, jarring winds, thunder booming over head, lightning felling majestic oaks before our very eyes. A great fog descended when the storm had cleared, so that you could not see your paw before you nose. We all bit onto each others tails to stay together, but it wasn't good enough "I stumbled over a rock and couldn't keep ahold of Virgo's tail. I don't remembr anything else 'till when I woke and everyone was gone. Leo, Virgo, Crimson. Everyone. Their howls filled the forest each night, searching for me, and I followed them. But the mist blocked out everything and I simply couldn't fine them..... "When the mist finally lifted, there was not a sign of them, not a trace. I was so lonely. So afraid. But I carried on. And after a while I found this place, Taint took me in and Bandarra embraced me as a friend. Cloud, you too. I am so grateful." She finished and looked from Cloud to the Bandy, her face sombre, the she reached forward and licked both their maws in turn.

Bandy's attention was drawn into every detail of Carmine's account of her life and travels. :: Wow! I wish my life was so interesting!:: He recalled especially how Carmine and Leo were set to be mates. It reminded him of Sierra.
When she finished her narration, Bandy felt a bit embarrassed. Not from Carmine's grateful affection, but that his life story was no where near as exciting as hers. He flinched a little when he knew it was his turn to tell his tale.
Biting his lip a bit, charcoal and khaki auds a little low he started. "I was born in captivity, to the Naracho Pack. It was the effort of some well meaning humans to breed us where they had almost wiped us out. They were not our friends. . ." He added, referring to the humans. " They put sheep and other livestock in our enclosure and left us to our devices. Times were easy then." He didn't want the two faes before him to think he had any association with humans whatsoever.
"Eventually our pack grew strong and the humans decided to release us into the wild, to repopulate the desert and mountains. It must've seemed like a good idea to them, but everthing was downhill from there." Bandy paused at this point wondering if he should tell them about Sierra when he got to her part. "We were used to hunting sheep and cattle, so naturally we went to ranches where that kind of prey was abundant and easy to catch. Little by little. . .the ranchers killed our pack."
He paused again, taking a deep breath and mentally swallowing any pain that what he was about to say would cause himself. With bravado he went on. "Mostly with guns, but others would put out fresh meat with slow working poison. The females would bring it back for their pups and both would die a slow death. They looked like mad-wolves. . .frothing at the mouth, eyes rolling back and running like crazy. . .talking nonsense." He sighed loudly, images flashing through his mind of his pack mates, some brothers and sisters, others cousins and inlaws suffering this torture before dying.
"But I stayed. I stayed because of my mate Sierra. . .I thought she was smart enough to stay away from the ranches, but the last time I saw her alive. . ." He gritted his teeth "I just knew. . .I could smell the poison on her breath. . .I could see her foaming at the mouth. She died that night thankfully. Her and her unborn litter. . .I'm glad she didn't suffer that long. After that I left. I just had to, I couldn't bear it anymore. . ."
Nor could he bear to tell anymore of his tale, how he met up with red wolves from the swamps to the east, or of meeting Bajada, another of the Naracho's members with the sense to leave before she was killed. And how the Azure Moon Pack had accepted her and told Bandy to move on.
Instead, he swallowed hard, optics cast on the loam. He should have finished up by saying how thankful he was to be here, but his mouth had gone dry.

((aahhh!!! thats so sad!! and taint, um, "the Bandy"? huh?))
Cloud smiled with a trace of her old sadness on her face. These two went though harder times than she had. None of the three there were to be envied.
She smiled again, but this time a happy smile lit up her snow-white maw. "I'm sorry for all the hardship you both went through. But here in Misty Moors, you'll find a new life. Many of us have gone through similar trials, and all have recovered. I am sure you can too." Cloud paused, clearing her throat. "Would you like to meet some of the other wolves here? They're all very friendly- it's like one huge family!" She grinned at the two newcomers. "What do you say?"

A forlorn face pressed through the foliage surrounding the First Cave, and a deep sigh was released as a large black wolf paused, scenting the air to confirm that the alphess was home. Bullet then padded up the slope, tail drooping, paws dragging as he ascended t'wards the cave that housed the higher ranking wolves of the Moors.
Soon, the imposing dark mouth gaped infront of him, and Bullet haulted, throwing a quick glance over his shoulder to check that Hurricane was following before turning his attention back to the cave. His jaws parted and a short, soft bark was released, followed by shuffling sounds from inside the cave. A moment later, a slender brown face emerged from the gloom, petite maw curved into a welcoming smile. Taint was growing used to her packmembers approaching the cave, and some of her more feirce motherly aspects had faded.
"Yes, Bullet. How may I help?" She asked, cocking her head quizically. Bullet stepped aside and bowed.
"M'lday, I present you with a newcomer to the Moors. Hurricane. She wishes to join the pack."

OoC: x3 Tis' Hurricane, Taint, a female.
The young grey wolf-dog trotted up behind Bullet, peering over his shoulder into the dark maw of the cave. Her leathery black nose twitched as she inhaled the scent of wolves. Ears pricked slightly for half a moment and then lowered quickly as the alphena emerged from the black cave before her.
Hurricane bowed deeply and crawled forwards to Taint, her tail completely exceeding the low collie curl as she tucked it in respect to the alpha fae. She averted her dark green orbs across the ground instead of towards Taint.
I don't know how to do this. What if I do it wrong? Hurricane thought. Her thoughts suddenly turned to an old loner brute she had known. He knew what to do. He had told her, at one time. But in the time when she needed it most, the memory had been lost, but of course. Contemplating what she was about to say, the half-breed spoke:
"Hullo, M'lady. I would - I would like very much t' join your pack, if you will have me." Not knowing what else to say, Hurricane glanced towards the alphena's paws.

Tanit pered over Bullet's shoulder and her brow furrowed n a confused frown. "But Bullet. Whre is Hurricane? I can't...." She trailed off and er auds twitched, her gaze flicking donwards. A small smle curved her maw and her eyes widened momentarily in surprise. I'll never get used to woles grovelling at my feet. She thought.
She nodded thoughtfully as Hurricane finshed speaking, and her deep mber occuli flitted over the wolf-dog's form. She noted the obvious respect the female showed, and the fact that she was lite and able. Perhaps she would make a good hunter. After a moment, the alpha femme gave a curt nod.
"Yes, Hurricane. You are welcome to join Misty Moors. Welcome." She said, smiling warmly down at her newest pack member. Then, as she had done to Bandy and Carmine, she reached forward and licked the smaller grey wolf on the crown.

"Th-thank you," Hurricane stuttered, blinking. She must have done something right, considering the alphena's words. The wolf-dog got to her grey paws and gave Taint's muzzle a lick.
The wolf-dog walked slowly past her to stand just inside the cave. She cocked her head, her plume waving slightly as she blinked at the wolves present. Rather at a lost for words, she lowered her tail slightly and dipped her head in greeting. "Well, uhm, hello."

Bandarra snapped from his slight depression at the approach of more wolven. Ash and khaki stained auds flipped back to attention as Bullet approached, a black brujo with a build much like Bandy's. Trailing the scout was a smaller grey wolven, a female. Something was odd about this one, but Bandy recognized it easily as he had seen it before. :: A wolf-dog!:: He didn't much mind if wolves and dogs intermingled, but some of the others in the Naracho Pack didn't see it the same way. Obviously Taint didn't mind too much because she welcomed Hurricane just as she'd welcomed Carmine and himself.
Through grey optics he watched Hurricane look inside the cave and greet someone who was inside. ::Who's in the cave?:: Bandarra wondered, looking over again at his friend Carmine to see if she had an idea of who Hurricane could per'aps be talking to, if not the pups.

Taint hurriedly stepped in front of Hurricane, barring hr way. A shrill yip of surprise sounded from the depths of the First Cave, as Cotton dashed up to er moter and hid beneath her for protection from the strange new female, who harboured a strange scent the likes of which the whelp had never smelled before.
A warning growl rumbled in the alpha female's throat and she shook her head, beckoning with a single forepaw to outside the cave.
"This cave is for council wolves, only. Especially now as my pups are staying here." She turned to Bullet, "Bullet, please show Bandarra, Carmine and Hurricane to their sleeping area."
She inclined her head at Hurricane and forced herself to smile warmly. She didn't mean to seem aggresive, but the new femme had come to close to her cubs for comfort. Bullet nodded and turned away, flicking his tail to indicate that the three newcomers should folow. Then, he began down the slope, soon breaking into a steady lope.
Carmine shrugged in answer to Bandy's questioning glance, before turning to Taint. She nodded at the alphena's words and her gaze flicked to Bullet, who was already loping down the slope. Carmine grinned at the Mexicna wolf, then turned and trotted obediently after the black and white scout.
