Realizing his gruff composure was making Corwin uneasy, Raif plopped down on his haunches and scratched vigously at his left aud with his hind paw.
Come on you stupid, black-hearted brute! Quit being so mean! What the heck has gotton ahold of you? Raif sighed and rested his leg, then dragged his tongue across his rough pad. He had felt his blood suddenly go hot, something he had never experienced, even when he was courting Ash. Sighing, the brute shook his head and looked back to Corwin.
Akwardly, the black brute spoke. "You never told me where you are from."
(ooc- oh! Foreshadowing!!!!!! lol.)

ooc: umm, r u thinking what im thinking...or am i just being random?
Corwin raised his eyes to look at the black wolf. He seemed to have lost his gruff exterior, and now seemed rather embarrassed. Well, at least they were on the same page now, he thought, rather bitterly. He didn't show it though. Instead he sat back on his haunches, so as not to lead Raif into thinking he wanted to leave. Corwin really didn't, he wanted to get to know this wolf better. Despite his gruff and melancholic impression, he thought that he probably was a pretty nice guy. Besides, he needed some friends...or at least to know some of the wolves here.
"Err, I am from a pack a ways north of here. It was named after the first alpha...The Mir pack i believe. Large pack of about twenty, ten of which were siblings. So I don't remember all of them..." he trailed off, still feeling kind of awkward. This also reminded him of the two sibs he had lost to that winter before he left, and his face tensed and eyes darkened.

(ooc-Taint! How the heck can you be so thickheaded? If you are confused, read Raif's profile and give it some thought........... I don't know how it's going to turn out, but yea.) bic- Raif sighed and nodded, trying to be friendly. It was hard, for the only soul he had talked to after his pack had perished was a dazed, confused Slate, now known as Keeper. He watched as the wolf's composure darkened. Raif's auds flattened back in sympathy. Obvoiusly, like me, something happened to his pack too. I wonder... Did the same happen to him that happened to me?Raif coughed akwardly, dying to know what had became of this one's pack, his head swimming, trying to find a way to ask.

ooc: how come taint and Lou have the exact same siggy?
bin: Corwin sat quietly as the wolf expressed sympathy, and then didn't go on. The scruffy wolf twitched his ears a little bit, and let himself relax. That was the past, nothing there anymore, besides, this Raif fellow has probably had a worse time than me, he thought. No need to continue this akward silence. But still, he mad no move to begin talking again. Raif coughed. All rightly then, apparently he has nothing to say. Corwin took it as an invitation to go on, and after a moment, continued.
"Sorry," he said rather horsely, "I just lost two litter mates in that last winter a couple moons ago. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I have no idea what happened to the rest of them, because i left soon after. I haven't tried to contact them either."
Corwin smiled a little, somewhat apologetically, at Raif. It looked so fake though, you could see the longing in his eyes. If only he had howled at them from the borders, a last good bye. Or at least said good bye to Kaya...he didn't know what was going on. He had felt very confident leaving. Perhaps it was another soul beside him, with a past as as painful or more than his own.

ooc: okies, short post but needed post.
Cloud inclined her snow-white head in deference to the alphess's request. She turned and smiled at all the new pack members.
"Hello there. I'm Cloud, and m'lady Taint has asked me to show you three to the pack cave. Let's see, um, you're Jacindam, you're Corwin, and you're..um..oh yeah, Raif, right?" Cloud grinned, a bit sheepishly. "I'm not great with names, but I'll try. The cave is this way. Please follow me." She turned tail (heh) and began to lope t'wards the second cave.

Achilles sat in stunned silence as Lou spoke. He loved the sound of her voice, he loved the way she moved. . .how she lit up when she talked to him. Just as her banner was lashing, his was curled and sweeping slightly.
The brujo of brown and black blocked out everthing else happening around him. He'd totally forgotten about Corwin, and Raif, or Keeper and his reunion with his pups. He listened to Lou, midnight auds attentive and catching her every word, the inflection of every letter.
When she finished, his frame seemed to be bursting with excitement. All that mattered to him was the fact that she was back, here and now. His odd eyes locked on hers, he replied with great restraint. . ."Of course I forgive you!" But he was bursting to say something else.
With a deep sigh that inflated his already deep earth tinted chest, he looked all around him. He couldn't keep this back any longer. He thought he'd go nuts if he did. Voice lowered to a whisper he continued "When you were gone. . .I thought of you all the time. I kept seeing you everywhere, I thought I heard you howling sometimes. I. . .I think I'm going nuts. . .or maybe I really like you, Lou." :: I said it. . .what now?:: He thought as soon as the words escaped his painted dial. :: She's going to think I'm crazy, me. . . the beta. I'm supposed to be strong. Why did I say that?:: Suddenly he mentally questioned himself, his mismatched orbs now breaking her gaze and focusing on the terra 'neath his mitts. His plume ceased to move. He was waiting for the axe to fall, for her to tell him he was crazy.

Raif nodded humbly to Corwin. He opened his maw, about to speak, to tell the scruffy brute how he was sorry to hear about his pack, but feel silent as a white fae interrupted his thoughts.
Quickly, the brute shut his mouth with an audible click as his teeth came together, listening to the fae's orders.
He sighed and looked at Corwin as she loped off. With a half-shrug, he rose stiffly to his feet and looked back at Corwin, waiting for him to follow.

Corwin wanted to learn more of Raif's past, and he sat quietly and waited for a reply. He had become totally engrossed in their conversation, because Raif seemed so...so..well, he didn't know how to put it. Familiar maybe? Just then a voice cut in, sharply ending their conversation. Corwin started a little, and he jerked his head so swiftly to see who it was he almost got whiplash. It was that white female from before, Cloud. He just watched her as she ordered them to follow. He heard the metallic click of Raif's jaws, showing that he indeed was going to say something. Begrudgingly, he stood up, and began to follow Raif.
"Okay then," he muttered somewhat irritably under his breath. There couldn't have been worse timing. Maybe he would get to talk to Raif some more though. he hoped so.
ooc: first of all, setsuna i don't agree with my char, i don't think your post was irritating...thats just him. lol. second, i hope im even inthe right spot..i can never tell if you guys just randomly move.

ooc- You are doing fine wolfcry! I mean, look at Ghost. He's a complete jerk, but that doesn't mean that I dislike Aerith. It's just how our charries are. Keeper and Solo are the only two of my charries that are normal... lol.
