Cloud listened politely as Dearheart introduced herself. Dearheart, she thought to herself. What a lovely name. She cast a scrutinizing eye over the femme- she did not look well at all. Dearheart was covered in dried blood- her own blood, Cloud was certain- and looked absolutely horrible! Cloud frowned, a bit puzzled. Ah! She had it!
“I think you had better stay here, Dearheart. To be honest, you don’t look very well at all. I can help you with that gash on your side, and those cuts around your pistons don’t look good either. I really think you had better stay here with me. You need healing, and most of all, rest. You really shouldn't be out and about for at least a week or two. What do you think? I can tell that those wounds pain you, you don’t need to hide that.”
Cloud smiled, the corners of her eyes crinkling. She looked over at the other three wolves there; Bullet, Raif, and Corwin.
“You three should go to the meeting. Could you-“ this was directed to Bullet- “tell Taint that I am here with Dearheart? I think she will understand. Thank you very much.”
She inclined her head respectfully and headed back into the second cave with Dearheart.
Ooc: sorry for the bit of powerplaying. But this plot is too good to let sit!

Bullet's impassive gaze watched the four other wolves with little interest. Tail tip flicked absent mindedly from side to side, and every now and then Bullet would give a soft whine. Yes, he was thinking. Enveloping himself in his own thoughts and blocking out the rest of the world.
Suddenly, a howl split the air, and Bullet's ebonite auds twitched. After a moment, he got slowly to his feet, not hearing Cloud's speech. A ghost of a smiel was issued to Dearheart, and his head bobbed in a curt nod at Cloud. Then, he turned and began to lope steadily down the hill, t'wards the Third Cave.

Dearheart nodded slightly as the white female told her to stay. All the better for Dearheart. Then she wouldn't have a chance off being introduced. Plus, she looked almost like walking carrion. No, not quite that bad. She only had a few scrapes, she keep thinking. Dearheart glanced down at her paws. They were cut up...when did that happen? She hadn't even noticed. Probably when she was running. Shaking her head slightly, she walked further in the cave and sat gently on her right side. Even so, she could not suppress a wince as she lay down. I must look pathetic, she thought to herself.
"Thanks for volunteering to stay with me. But isn't it an important meeting you are missing?" she asked quietly. Her side itched. She flicked her ears, but couldn't wait for a reply. She twisted her head sharply and began to lick and chew off dry blood, being careful not her hit the wound. Did she feel the wolf's eyes watching her? No...not yet. But Dearheart didn't look up to see. if she was watching Dearheart would not be intimidated. Yeah right, she thought sarcastically.

Raif flicked his orbs open to see a few newcomers arrive, then depart. Grunting to himself, he half heard the call of the alpha and heard Cloud announce to them that this was an important meeting that they all had to go to.
Lazily, Raif lifted his head heavily from the well-trodden Earth and gazed up. I'm a newcomer. I don't have any affairs with this pack at the moment. I think it would be better if I didn't leave here.
Raif licked his lips and watched a wounded fae walk around him and enter the cave weakly. Poor thing. I wonder what happened to her? Geez, I'm thirsty. The black brute thought.
Weakly, he gained his feet and gazed around, head high into the air, trying to pick up a scent of water.
Finally locating it, Raif wobbly made his way out of the cave and down the small slope, heading towards the river.

Cloud gently sat down next to Dearheart. "No, it's all right. I'm sure m'lady Taint will understand. I don't mean to hurt your pride or anything- but Dearheart, you look like a walking corpse! You look horrible! You need to rest, let your wounds heal, and take it easy. Okay?'

ooc: gah! sry, i can't think of ways to reply! *is crazy*
bic: Dearheart nodded slightly as the white female commented on her wounds. Another one to state the obvious, but they were just concerned. She continued to clean her side though, not yet replying. It already felt better without walking around on it, but her long fur was hard to clean. Usually beautiful and full, it had become ragged with recent events. The wolf's words were true, she probably did look like a 'walking corpse'. She sighed. This was not the way she had wanted to end up. What was she doing here anyway? This pack didn't need her, didn't want her. She only got in on pure pity.
She suddenly jerked her head up in surprise. What was the wolf's name? If she had told her already she hadn't heard. Or maybe she had already forgotten. Her mind swam; was she crazy? She shook her head slightly, "Erm, I'm sorry, but I don't think I caught your name. What was it again?" She looked questioningly at the wolf. She was so nice, and yet Dearheart felt she knew nothing about her. Actually, all she knew was that she was skipping the meeting on her behalf. Her name might be a good place to start...

Cloud grinned, a little ashamed.
"Well, of course you didn't. That's because I didn't say! I'm very sorry for being so rude- my name is Cloudshadow- but you can call me Cloud. It's much less of a mouthful."

A dark shape suddenly appeared in the mouth of the cave, illuminated by the sunshine behind it. Like a large, dark shadow, afternoon light spilling around it and into the cave. The form looked proud, magnificent....
Bullet stepped into the cave, head falling back into its usual position nowadays - hanging sadly, auds drooping. Tail was tucked between his legs as he dragged himself to the rear of the cave, cast a doleful look at Cloud and Dearheart, and flopped down onto the floor, leaning his head on his paws.
The brute had left almost before the meeting had ended, leaving his two sister's to speak, and had wandered on his own for a while. However, being on his own had only made him more upset, and so he had decided to return to the Second cave, and Dearheart. He didn't know the femme, neither had he spoken to her much, but the image of her standing alone and wounded in the middle of the rocky grounds, confused, upset and lonely, was still imprinted upon his mind, and it still reflected his thoughts perfectly. And so she had popped into his head and he had decided to come and visit her.
"Any better?" He sighed dully, turning his sad emerald eyes on the pretty young femme, still covered in cuts.
ooc: Maybe Cloud can ask how the meeting was? The Bullet can say she became DLH.

(ooc: sorry if I'm answering for dearheart. i need to. many many /many/ apologies wolfcry! i do not like having to do this at all. but "es necesito" -is necessary-.)
bic: Cloud smiled, apparently unconcerned that she missed the meeting.
"I think she will be doing better in a few hours. Dearheart has gotten a lot of wounds from various sources, it doesn't really matter where or how. I found, just outside the cave, a plant that can be used to both stop wounds from bleeding, and to heal them as well."

((woooh, finally found time to post. Not to mention I think I have caught up on some sleep, so now i can actually think straight...mostly. Lol. And np setsuna, Dearheart prob wouldn't say much anyway))
Dearheart nodded absent-mindedly as Cloud answered. That sounded about right. Her wounds were feeling better, less stiff with blood, but she was mentally tired. Worn out. She shook herself lightly, trying to concentrate. It was then that she noticed the way Bullet's head dropped, his manner seemed so melancholy. She was of course, a little concerned, but not much. She had no idea if he was always like this. Cloud acted as though nothing was wrong, but she could just be trying to cheer him up. There seemed to be a lacking in the conversation. She glanced around, realizing that the role of conversation starter had been left to her. She sighed.
"Is there anything I need to know that was discussed during that meeting?" she asked quietly, not really looking at Bullet. It really was just small talk. If there was something she needed to know, Cloud would have told her. Then again, Dearheart was often left out. She might have forgotten. Dearheart now glanced up at Bullet, trying to look interested. Trying to put on a friendly appearance was always a good idea, well, mostly.

Bullet, who had placed his head don his mitts as Cloudshadow had replied to his question, now lifted it to stare blankly at Dearheart as she voiced a query. He nodded slowly, then opene his jaws to mumble an answer.
"Cloud got made lead hunter, the beta has a mate..." He trailed off, wincing at the memory of Jewel trotting over to congratulate Jewel while he was left on his own - the outcast of the trio.
With a sigh, his head flopped back onto his paws again, and his eyes dulled as he lost himself in thoughts and memories, his auds drooping.

ooc: Wolfcry it's "Cloud" not "Setsuna." It's all right, I've done that same mistake a lot. ;D Oops. LOL
bic: Cloud's orbs bulged out in an unattractive manner.
"Cloud got made lead hunter..."
That was all she heard. Her brain was in an uproar of thought.
Lead Hunter......but Breeze is Lead Hunter......who, me?.......I'm not good enough......what did I do?......is he kidding me?......do I know this brute?......did he hear it wrong?......is Breeze dead?......maybe it was Corwin......or Carmine......it can't be me!......I'm not good enough!
This sort of thing kept running through her head over and over and over again. Suddenly, all the thoughts stopped. This was what the old Cloud would do. She was a new Cloud, and she would handle this accordingly. But two thoughts still ran through her brain...
I'm not good enough......oh WolfLord! How will I tell milady Taint about the shadow of a wolf I thought I saw in the forest for the past week?......I'm not good enought......
ooc: Honda, do you catch my drift? Dun-dun-DAAAAAHH! I'll give you a hint if you ask nicely...
bic: Cloud shook her head slightly, closing her maw with an almost audible *snap.*
"Thank you very much, sir, for telling me of this. I will go to milady Taint and milord Keeper immediately. If you could kindly stay with Dearheart while I go to the alphas? I won't be five minutes."

Bullet made an effort to lift his auds, so it at least looked as if he was listening to the femme. But it was a feeble attempt, and they soon drooped again, a sigh escaping his lips to punctuate their plight.
"Kay." He murmered dolefully, as questioned to him as to whether or not he would stay with Dearheart. Jaden occuli lifted to Dearheart's face, and he lifted the corners of his mouth in a tiny smile of greeting.
"Hi. I'm Bullet. We've met." He mumbled, his voice low.

ooc: Gah! apparently i'm not as awake as i thought. lol. but really can you blame me? so many names....lol jk.
bic: Dearheart looked on with a mixture of surprise and confusion. Lead hunter? She had never heard of such a rank. It was obviously important though, as Cloud soon got up and left with a promise of return. Dearheart shook herself, full thick ruff fluffing up even more than normal. She almost laughed. Only a little ways into pack life and she was already confused. Hopefully she could just blend in though, not cause too much trouble. Her new pack didn't need a murder on their hands, whether she had been the cause or not.
Again, she was reminded how morose Bullet looked. Her eyes filled with concern as he attempted a smile. What had happened to him to make him this way? Was it just his nature? She tried to push away the thought, but it wouldn't leave her alone. Dearheart couldn't bear to have anywolf that sad. Suddenly realizing he had addressed her, she hastened to reply. "Yes," she said quietly, "We have." There was no reason for her laconic answer, except that there seemed nothing else to say. Bullet still seemed a complete stranger, and it would seem intrusive to her to voice her thoughts.

Cloud nodded her head thankfully when Bullet agreed he would stay with Dearheart. She stretched her neck from side to side, a little nervous about what she was going to do. Then she let out the breath she had been holding unconsciously, and squared her shoulders. She would show the alphas she could be relied on.
Cloud softly padded the few inches between her and Dearheart. Cloud gently licked the wounded fae's cheek in a gesture of friendliness.
"I'll be back very soon, Dearheart, I promise. Then I can begin tending to your wounds. Okay?"
Cloud straightened up, having bent over to quietly speak those words into the other fae's aud. She glanced over at Bullet, lying sadly in the rear of the cave.
Hmmm. Wonder if he's okay. He doesn't look very good, the mothering part of her said inside her brain.
"Thank you, sir. I will be back quickly." Cloud took a deep breath, and padded out of the cave mouth, glancing back at Dearheart.

Bullet's right aud flicked to catch Dearheart's words, and he gave a soft grunt, not sure how to reply. Ready to enclose himself in his own thoughts once more, a small voice - one that was obviously a reminiance of the old Bullet, spoke inside his skull. Speak to her! She's injured and new! It yelled, and Bullet grunted again, knowing that he should speak but not knowing what to say.
After a moment of slow thought, he muttered: "How're you finding the pack?" Dull jade hued occuli lifting to study her face with little enthusiasm.

Dearheart looked on with a lack of interest. More small talk. She was struck by his green eyes, not many wolves had green eyes. She smiled slightly, he was trying to be nice. That was something different to her. Memories of conceited fools suddenly rushed her mind, mostly males. The alphas sneering face. Her admirer. Him dead. She closed her eyes momentarily, blocking out the all too fresh memory. She must not come into this pack with a closed mind. Not all wolves are like that. They can't be. All the same, she was wary of other wolves. So much so that she could be called paranoid.
"It's pretty good. You all are very nice here. Very..."she paused, trying to think of something to say that couldn't be twisted around to an insult, "accepting. Are most of the wolves here from somewhere else?" There, she thought, a question to continue the conversation. That was good. She looked down at her paws, still not that comfortable in his presence. Not just his presence, any presence. But she needed a pack to survive, so here she was. There was no hope of her going a loner, her past had proved that.

Bullet listened half-heartedly to her reply, a tiny smile appearing momentarily 'pon his lips at her compliment - Bullet hadn't recieved a compliment in a long time, and although this one wasn't directed at him specifically, it still made him feel slightly better than he had been feeling. Dipping his head in thanks, he made slightly more effort to listen to her question.
"Yes, almost all of us, I think....... that's why the Moors is such a big pack." He replied, not lifting his head from his mitts, emerald orbs still studying Dearheart's face.

Paws pounded recklessly against the ground as the multi-hued fae dashed towards the second cave. Her pelt was mainly red, yellows and blacks, but greys and browns and whites were mixed in as well. Her tongue lolled from her maw happily, and her muzzle was held low to the ground. Her amber eyes were alight with excitement, and her plume was waving at a ridiculously fast rate.
Kalito might have been tracking, if she had known how to do so, but she was a poor hunter. Indeed, she had dashed off in the first direction she had thought of after the beta, Achilles, had accepted her into the pack. She had, incidentally, ended up at the Second Cave.
The she-wolf slowed as she reached the mouth of the cave, her ears swiveling as she caught the sound of wolves speaking within. Her bright, amber eyes wandered into the darkness, and her perpetual goofy grin still set on her muzzle, she started inside.
Kal halted when she was just inside the den, and lowered her tail but kept it wagging as she grinned at the two wolves within. "Hello," The fae said as calmly and cordially as she could with her hyper-active nature. She reclined to her haunches at the mouth of the cave. "I'm new to this pack; my name's Kalito. Pleased to meet you two." She seemed rather oblivious to Bullet's depressed expression or Dearheart's injuries, but knowing her, she would notice quickly.
