A hunt?

For one that had never seen seasons change, the sight of fall was one of both astounding proportions and deep fright. The air was cooler, with a crisp smell to it as the winds from the north roamed lands it was no longer restricted from. The vibrant greens of the grass dulled to a dingy brown, the leaves dried up, turned all the color of the sunset and earth, and fell off. Under mitts they made a pleasing crunch, but also stuck to pelts and were hard to remove.
Bandarra took this all in. He was scared at first, but no wolf had told him that this was abnormal, so he supposed it was something that lands other than the desert experienced on a regular basis. The stocky brute padded through a forest that was once green, now many shades of auburn and mahogany. He padded lightly, not sure if the added sound of the crushing leaves 'neath his white paws was a good or bad thing. But his stomach was growling ferociously, and would have easily given him away.
From Carmine, his dear Red Wolf friend, he had learned to 'smell' prey. He didn't quite know how to hunt them yet, but he /smelled/ them more and more as he drew closer to the clearing, the air from his nares making a little cloud in the cool atmosphere.
He paused at the edge of the autumn bitten forest, and sat down. Grey orbs scanned the clearing, and charcoal auds swayed, but the Mexican brujo could neither hear nor see anything. He could only smell them, and his nares quivered at the scent as he licked his maw in anticipation of a meal.
If only there was a hunt. . .

ooc: hehe. -pokes Setsuna- I'll bring Carmine in... she's my only hunter charrie, I think =] Shje can be following Bandarra.... hehe. I'll make up an excuse for the failure of their last hunt.
bic: Dancing, dark occuli surveyed the majestic beauty of autumn as dainty aubern hued paws ploughed swfitly through the carpet of crunchy, dried leaves. Bushy, black tipped tail was raised in comfortable happiness, although not so far that it would seem disrespectful to any higher ranking wolves watching.
Gaze reluctantly left the bold reds, oranges and browns surrounding her as the steady beat of pawsteps that had thrummed in her auds for the past few minutes stopped. Carmine noticed that Bandarra had stopped, and lifted her maw, nares flaring to take in the aromatic scents that wafted from the huge clearing before them.
Breaking into a trot, Carmine was soon by her friend's side. She sank to her haunches, flashing a grin at him.

A lithe, feather-weight form loped up behind the two wolves, paws naturally silent and almost floating over the crunchy leaves. Bright, yet dark-hued green eyes watched with an attentive, almost eerie collie stare, unblinking and locked on target.
The unusually small, oddly-built femora slowed as she reached her two wolven friends. Her frame was held lower to the ground, almost in a crouch, and her tail held in a low, yet pleased collie-curl. One ear stood erect, and the other was folded midway, giving her a dogish look.
Tongue fell out of Hurricane's maw as she lowered her alabaster-masked muzzle near her off-whitish-grey paws, sniffing the ground. The white tip of her thunderstorm grey tail waved out behind her.
A skilled hunter for a half-breed wolf hybrid, Hurricane was eager to help her new (and first, odd for a wolf-dog of three years already) pack. And what better way than the area she was skilled in?

The snow, charcoal and sand male craned his head as the auburn fae approached and settled next to him. Carmine flashed a smile to the one o' mexican lineage, and he returned the gesture, only to hear another approach.
Quickly he turned to see Hurricane, the wolf-dog pad up. The snow had finally begun falling in earnest, and was quickly covering things. Bandy watched her with grey occuli, and upon seeing the fae hadn't joined them, he whispered "Psst! Over here! With hopes of catching the curly tailed and floppy eared one's attention. He was eager to get started.
Though he didn't have much hunting experience, the cold was biting into his bones and he would be glad just to move around, and perhaps get a large meal into his belly.

Carmine, too, heard Hurricane approach, and she craned her neck to peer over her shoulder, maw pointing in the opposite direction to her mitts - a very uncomfortable position. Dark eyes rested on the grey, white and black wolf-dog, who had stopped a few yards away from she and Bandarra, and Carmine swivelled her whole body to face the femme, tongue lolling comfortabley, plume thumping the ground.
"Come over here!" She said, just as Bandarra spoke. Their two voices mingled together, creating an unintelligible jumble of meaningless blab, and Carmine giggled, batting with a small, dark forepaw at the mexican wolf's shoulder.
The red wolf then gestured with that same mitt to Hurricane, urging her, without words this time, to join them.
ooc: Bad post. Meh-ness.

The wolf-dog's ears pricked, her one flopped aud standing erect for a moment before falling back. She let out a playful, amused snort as the words of the two Mexican wolves were jumbled together, but she got the message.
The fae shook the snow off of her mitts, then tilting her head to let the powdery whiteness slide away from her off-white muzzle. Her breath created a cloud in the air. Hurricane came to a halt beside the two wolven, panting even in the cold air. "Kinda cold. We'll be lucky if we catch anything out here, The wolf dog said gruffly.
Hurricane gave her curled tail a slight wag. She was hungry, and could use a good meal.

Maybe they could try to hunt something themselves and get in a hunting accident? Bandy could mess up from his inexperience and cause them all to get hurt? Would make for a good plot perhaps? I'm partial to plots!))
