ooc: -pokes title- Hehe. Random.
bic: The sun was a glowing yellow ball, haning low in the sky and smiling down at the inhabitants of the globe. Mirror Lake sparkled joyously, reflecting the bright orb in its clear waters.
At the Northern side of the lake, a young red deer stepped out of the undergrowth cautiously. It glanced furtively about, ears pricked and eyes wide, before slowly walking forward. The doe, for the deer was female, stopped at the bank and looked about the lake once more. Staisfied that there was nothing there to do it harm, it lowered its head to drink.
However, the doe was wrong to think that no creature at the lake wished to do it harm. Crouched in the undergrowth, eyes sparkling with pent up excitement, was a slight wolf. Pelt was of aubern hue, adorned with splashes of black and white. Its breathing was soft and gentle, and it was as still as a statue, gaze locked nto the obvlivious herbovore drinking its fill.
Carmine turned her head slowly, making sure not to rustle the branches about her, to check that Bandarra was following. Her smile held a trace of pride in it, for she had found the deer who's scent had reached her at the First Cave. Or, at least, she had found a deer. That was good enough for her.
ooc: Okies. Do you want them to catch it or not, Honda?

Trotting through the forest near Mirror lake was a unusually small wolf. Footsteps were light and quick, the grey paws traveling gently over the terrain. The body was a darker grey, the muzzle and underbelly alabaster colored. A bushy plume tipped with white waved out behind the wolf-dog.
Hurricane lifted her head to sniff the air again, catching the strong scent of the two wolves she was following: Carmine and Bandarra. She could also scent a...Hmm, that's a deer. I wonder if they're hunting? The wolf dog thought as she trotted closer in the direction the scents led her to. The wolf she had been raised by - she had known no packlife other than her newly-started life at the Moors - had taught her skillful hunting and tracking methods. Of course, they were methods for hunting alone, but the wolf-dog assumed she could hunt with others with a bit of practice.
As the scent grew steadily stronger, Hurricane slowed, then stopped altogether. She stood still for a moment, letting her green orbs wander about the area. She first spotted the lake; then the deer. The wolf-dog crouched low to the ground, not wanting it to spot her. She glanced through the undergrowth, both auds perked to listen. Her right ear flopped over within seconds.

((I dunno, I'm thinking maybe Hurricane and Carmine would do the actual work, Bandy would kind of almost mess things up. I need Shimmer's input on this one though.))
Unlike the two femmes near him, three if you counted the doe that Carmine had spotted, the Mexican brute was making noise as if he was announcing his presence to the universe. Bandarra was panting loudly, from keeping pace with the more slender red wolf, and white mitts braked obviously on the loam to see if Hurricane was still with them.
Looking back at Hurricane, Bandy did not see that he was close to bumping in to Carmine again. Fortunately he paused just at the nick of time to rearrange his path before bumping her once more. Through grey pools he noted that she was crouched and gazing intently at the lake.
" What're you. . .?" And then he too saw the small doe sipping at the pool that was so still you could see your reflection with ease. :: Oh.:: He snapped his tundra dial shut. Suddenly a thousand questions popped into his mind. :: Is that livestock? What if it runs and gets away? What will we eat then?::
Optics reflected worry now, and his orbits flicked from Carmine to the deer and back several times. :: How are we gonna get it? Should we surround it?::

Carmine's eyes widened in surprise as she saw Bandarra, blundering through the undergrowth t'wards her. By the lake, the doe lifted its head suddenly, staring about itself in fright at the sudden noise. Nearby where the wolves were hiding, a small hare dashed out of the undergrowth and raced towards the lake. The deer seemed to relax again, assuming it was this long-eared creature that had made the noise, and lowered its head noce more, this time to graze.
As Bandarra neared her, Carmine put her muzzle close to his aud. "Shhhhh...." She breathed, very gentley, signalling, with a fore-paw for him to crouh down. Her gaze wandered from Bandy's face to Hurricane, who had obviously followed them from the cave. carmine smiled and beckoned the femme closer with a twitch of her tail efore speaking, her voice less that a whisper.
"Maybe we should move apart a bit. So that we're more spread out. Then, one of us can run at the doe, and the other two could head it off. What do you think?" She asked, gaze flicking from Bandarra's nervous face to Hurricane. She gave her Mexican Wolf friend a reasurring smile, and licked his nose.

ooc: I don't mind, really. It could be kinda fun if Bandarra messed it up a bit and Carmine and Hurricane had to put in some extra work to get it. Or not get it. Whaddya think, Shimmer?

"Err. . .sorry!" He whispered, optics murking over in confusion as the lapine darted out and the doe seemed to relax. The stocky brujo relaxed, ducking in the undergrowth as the red fae started speaking again.
"Yeah. . .sure sure. . . ." Bandy agreed quickly, feeling his heart start to pound rapidly in his chest. He'd never been on a real 'hunt' and he wasn't certain that he wouldn't mess things up for all of them.
Then the femora of auburn smiled at him and licked his nose. If the Mexican brujo wasn't already confused and nervous enough, then now he was past that point. . .well on his way to befuddlement. Now he felt like he needed to be cocky, to do something to impress Carmine and Hurricane both.

Hurricane drew closer, lifting her folded ear to listen to Carmine's suggestion. Her green orbs brightened and her jowls drew back in a grin. "Yeah, that'll work!" The wolf-dog breathed back, keeping her voice low.
She turned her gaze back to the unsuspecting doe and took a step farther into the underbrush. Hurricane turned again to glance back at the two wolves. "Who's going to run at it?

Carmine turned to Hurricane, her eyes alight with excitement.
"I thought perhaps Bandarra..." She turned to the Mexican Male with a smile, and her brow furrowed suddenly as she gazed at him. He looks worried.... She thought, tilting her head almost imperceptibley to the side.
"Are yu alright, Bandarra?" She whispered, moving slowly closer to him so as notto alert the doe, and touching her nose to his as if to reasurre him, just in case his answer was 'no'.
ooc: Hehe. Bandy's sweet. Lol.
