Bottomless eyes were captured in their own reflection on Mirror Lake. Muzzle went to prod a hair in it's proper place every so often, her tail curled around her haunches tightly. The earth below barely touched her belly, the she-wolf would not allow herself to become soiled. Her front legs dangled carelessly over the slight step made between the water and the banks.
Perhaps she should spend more time in solitude, getting to know these wolves by the tiny figures she could sometimes see in the distance. She decided against it though, there was only one way to do things and that was direct actions. She wouldn't tiptoe around the territory, like someone who didn't want to be noticed. She smiled cruelly as she lowered her head closer to the water, and mouthed the words, "Who wouldn't notice this face?"

Two snowy auds perked, a pair of once innocent sapphire eyes bursting open at the sound of rustling. Tell tale ripples rolled slowly across the water, and Jewel's gaze travelled in the opposite direction to the one they were moving, to the opposite bank of the river, where a single wolf lounged.
With the bulk of Mirrored Lake between the two femmes, Jewel could not make out any precise details, but she could see enough to know that this canine was not of the Moors. Getting to her feet, Jewel shook herself roughly. Her eyes were smarting, sligtly red and puffy, and her fur was ruffled and unkempt. 'Twas obvious this wolf was distressed, but Jewel would not let it show, not to the newcomer on the opposite bank.
Better fix myself up. She thought, a determined look settling 'pon her delicate features. This was the first time Jewel was going to get to excercise her power as a Scout.
Trotting over to the waters edge, the milky femme lwoered her muzzle until it was inches from the water, inspecting her reflection carefully. She looked terrible. But she ignored that fact. The one detail she payed attention too was something tat was not there; no black and white face peering over hre shoulder, nor to her right or left. No, Jewel was the only wolf staring at her reflection. Jewel was alone.
"Oh, October." The femme sighed, remembering the sparse time she had spent with her mate before.... "You've left me again." Tears welled up in her eyes, and a single drop trickled down her tilted maw and splashed into the stream. Giving a huge sniff, Jewel plunged her head into the water, allowing the cool liquid to caress her face and wipe away all traces of depression marring her features.
When she lifted her head, she forced herself to smile. Then, she turned on her heels and began around the edge of the lake, breaking into a steady lope as she went.
Soon enough, she had reached the vain femme. Bowing her head slightly in greeting, she halted. "Greetings! You are now standing in the terra of Misty Moors. Please state your name and business." She called, her voice welcoming.

Ripples disturbed her reflection, making her into a blob of brown and black. A frown only just touched her muzzle as she heard a she-wolf's booming voice near her ears. Perhaps it wasn't loud but to Jecindam, everything had a fault. If it wasn't too loud, then it was too quiet. She could never find true satisfaction.
The black eyes gulped down the other's wolf's features, but she quickly spat them out. Yet again, her ebony eyes met with ones that were sparkling silver. Her white mask kept still, an emotionless look on her face. She smiled lightly, although her eyes stayed cold, " I am Jacindam," she said her name with quite a purr, she loved her name and often boasted about it at her homelands, "My buisness is to join with your pack."

Pale blue eyes scanned Jacindam's face, and narrowed ever-so-slightly. This femme simply didn't seem qute... right to Jewel. She seemed vain, per'aps even nasty. And the way she pronounced her own name like a mother cooing to a newly born cub.... it made the snowy scout shudder involentarily.
"Uh... ok." She said, snapping out of her reverie with a start as Jacindam stated her business. She nodded, brushing away her previous thoughts with a flick of her ivory plume. "Yes... good." The scout still seemed distracted, and her gaze roamed about the femme's features. "Errr.... follow me. then. I'll take you to the alphess." She turned away from Jacindam and began to pad away, knawing on her lip. She didn't like the femme. Didn't like her one bit!

Jacindam nodded slightly, flanking the female. A ghost of a smile escaped from her emotionless face, she already seemed to make this wolf wary of her. Perhaps she enjoyed the wolves' struggle to keep her from knowing what was plainly obvious. She wasn't well liked by wolves of her own gender, usually males liked her until the first sentence was spoken. But she didn't mind much, she had herself and her thoughts. It was all she truly needed, but sometimes it wasn't what she wanted.
"Misty Moors, Mhmm?" she turned the short comment into a question, but it was one that didn't really need an answer. "Who would you be?" she inquired out of sheer politeness.

Jewel turned to Jacindam at her question, her face blank. She was lost in thoughts. Of October... of this new femme... and of something else... something.... odd. Slowly, the blanks looks plastered across her features melted away and Jewel nodded in answer to the femme's retorical question before replying to her enquiry about who she, the youngest of the Scarlet siblings, was.
"I'm Jewel Scarlet." She replied simply, quickening her pace slightly. She wanted to get to the alphess quickly so that the responsibility of welcoming Jacindam could be handed over to the alphess. She just wasn't in the mood. She wanted to be alone. But, of course, she wouldn't show it. No, not sweet little Jewel Scarlet.

"Pleasure to meet you, Jewel Scarlet" she said loftily, with a tilt of her head. She increased her pace as well, no one could get rid of her -that- easily. The welcoming wolf was not that welcoming either, at least not to her. Jacindam tossed her head, mane ruffling and tail flicking. She expected...something different than what seemed to be private female. Maybe she wanted a charmer waiting for her arrival, a storyteller perhaps. Truth be told, the she-wolf expected too many things.
She matched her feet with the one ahead of her, thoughts drifting to who her alphess could be. She could only hope it was someone with a more amusing attitude.
