((I'll just pick up where it left off.))
Bandarra heard the tense worry in the Alphess's tone, as she sent the pack members to try and find her missing pup. The wolven she sent out scattered, each going their own way to try and locate the wanderer.
The tundra, sand, and charcoal Mexican wolf was more relaxed again; the beta had left, followed by Lou, and the black male that was approaching seemed to have veered off. Through grey pools Bandy admired Carmine, the red wolf. :: She said she's from the plains. . .I guess red wolves live there too.:: Bandarra was well traveled and considered himself educated, but there was still a lot he didn't know.
As the alphess herself joined in the search, Bandy sighed. "We'll never get welcomed at this rate. . ." He trailed off.

Carmine nodded, smiling tentively. She was warming quickly to bandarra, her breed's stereotypical shyness fading with every word she, or he, spoke. She glanced up at the wolves scattering, her stomach clenching at the thought of a missing pup. But it couldn't have got far, and with so many scouts it was bound to be found soon.
"If at all." She said with a sigh, then, trying to be more optimistic, "But I'm sure we will. I mean, we've witnessed the funeral and all.... perhaps they already consider us pack members?"

"I don't know about that. . . replied Bandy, remebering the less than polite treatment he recieved from the beta male. But Carmine had faced the same wolf and was respectfully ushered in. ::Maybe the beta just doesn't like other males. Competition.:: Bandy snorted at his own mental joke. A short howl broke his concentration though. A howl announcing that the pup had been found, by the river. "Looks like someone found the pup." The Mexican wolf stated the obvious.
The sun was beating down on the trees and casting beams of light through the branches and leaves. It felt good to Bandarra, who was used to such heat. Some of the pack members were panting, but Bandy felt right at home in hot weather.

Another howl sounded, farther away this time. It was the alphess, calling her other pack members, and the newcomers to the first cave. "Guess that's our cue. . ." Bandy trailed off, grey pools hovering on Carmine, who seemed just a bit lost for words. The white, khaki, and ash brute stood, nudging the red fae with his tundra hued maw. He had been by himself travelling for too long after another pack welcomed Bajada in but told him to move on. He immensly enjoyed having a companion about, since wolves were social by nature.
He followed the other pack members, once again assuming the posture of a kerl, maw hellward and plume tucked, so as not to offend anyone of higher rank. :: Especially that beta.:: He thought. Optics flicked backward to see if Carmine was following, pinnae the color of sand and charcoal-tipped pointed at the femme, who had also travelled far from her regular pack boundaries to arrive at the Moors.

Carmne's auds perked as the fainter howl reached them, and then she nodded at Bandarra. She allowed him to nudged her to her feet and then followed after him. However, her posture was quite different. Her plume was tucked, but her head was raised and her auds perked as she looked about her. Her inquisitive nature led her to want to examine every object in the Moors, and she did so with her eyes. They flicked from tree to tree, bush to bush. And sometimes even from wolf to wolf.
Once she had decided that she had seen all she could for then, she trotted up next to Bandarra and fell into step beside him, feeling suddenly relieved and happy that she was not the only kerl. If they weren't excepted, per'aps she and Bandarra could travel together. And even if they were, it would be nice to have another newcomer to travel up the ranks with.

Cloud padded back into the clearing, having heard Aki's howl.
"That annoying little pup," she said, but she was smiling. She loved pups. And whoops, speak of the devil, here was one now! Cloud had almost tripped over Pearl.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pearl looked up at the white fae with wide eyes.
"Hi," she stated. She tilted her head. "Me Pearl. What you name?" She wasn't the best speaker on the Moors, but she got her point across.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cloud smiled openly, how cute! She bent down to the pup's height and licked her nose.
"You're Pearl, then? I'm Cloud. Don't you need to be with your mother? She'll think you ran off like your sister Cotton if you don't get going." She smiled at the pup, and stood up again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pearl panted happily. She had a new friend to play with. She bounded around Cloud, just having fun. Then she heard what Cloud said.
"Me not know where Mum. Cloud know? Cloud help Pearl. Yes?" Pearl stopped bounding and sat down in front of Cloud's maw. "Help yes? Please?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cloud laughed outright, joyfully. She hadn't laughed in a long time.
"Of course, little one. I can hear your mother at the first cave." Cloud had excellent ears. She picked up Pearl by the scruff of her neck and set off.
"Stop wiggling!" she said, spitting the words out around Pearl's neck. She got a better hold on the scruff and walked faster, Pearl dangling happily from her maw.
