Heavy paws thudded on the well-trodded Earth as Keeper made the journey to the grave, a heavy burden not only on his broad back, but on his heart as well.
Keeper stopped in front of the grave, his eyes scanning the well-built structure. He sighed and placed his paw on the rock blocking the entance to the cave and stepped back. Keeper's orbs widened in surprise as the rock moved as if powered by the God's themselves. A heavy scent of musk and death reached the brute's senitive nares.
A shiver creeped up Keeper's spine as he entered the cave, his nails clicking softly agianst the damp rock. He paused and looked around him, giving his orbs time to adjust to the absence of light.
Before him layed the noble bones of Buck and Tundra, the past alpha's of the Moors before, their bones white, their gaping eye sockets locked on the grey brute as if they were judgeing him. Keeper closed his eyes and breathed, surpressing a sudden jolt of fear. He turned away from the bones but still felt the empty eyes upon his back.
Keeper made his way deeper into the cave, his orbs locked on a slat bed-like rock, jutting above the cave's floor.
"There!" he thought as he moved closer to the rock.
Keeper reached the rock and slowly climbed on top of it, adjusting his stride to keep Lakota's body from slipping. He sighed and gently lowered himself to the rock and tilted his body slightly, freeing Lakota from his back.
He winced as he turned and face the fae's body. Gently, he positioned her limbs so it looked like the Lead Hunter was sleeping. He sighed and licked her maw, then stepped back to study his work.
Satisfied, Keeper gently lowered his head and whispered in her aud.
"Godspeed, Bright Star. You are part of the Heavens now."
Keeper slowly turned and made his decent out of the cave, stopping only when his paws reached the dirt of outdoors. He turned and placed his paw on the cave's door, then stepped back as it made it way over the entance, stopping when it covered the hole.
Keeper sighed and located the writing above the door, and read it. He sighed and reared up on his hind legs and began scratching a message of his own below that of the Alpha's:
[glow=red,2,300]Lakota- Lead Hunter of the Moors.
You'll Live in Our Hearts Forever.
[/glow]
Keeper sighed and stepped down, studing his work. He blinked hard and threw back his noble head, his howl peicing the Heavens above, wishing her spirit luck in the after-life.
