Icyen plodded into the the clearing surrounding the lake, muttering something about how Qi was an idiot, or something like that.
He lifted his eyes and saw the lake, and a smirk tugged at his maw. Memories came rushing back, interruppting his train of thought and making him gravitate toward the lake's edge. His gray-blue paws distured the glass surface of the water, sending little ripples across the vast surface of the lake. Submerging himself up to his armpits in the cool lake, Icyen bent his head and lapped up the fresh water.
A curious perch swam up to Icyen, followed by a sunfish, and then another perch. With an effortless toss of his head and a loud splash, the slimy secound perch wriggled in the grasp of his powerful jaws. Trotting back to the bank quite pleased with himself, he lay down and ate his meal.
One of the memories tugging at Icyen was one of Chase. He remembered them catching fish together. Swimming together. Laughing together. Icyen almost never laughed or smiled. His parents told him the if he showed no emotion he would be a better leader. So he didn't show any. But Chase had somehow melted the shell of his tattered heart, and helped him heal from his past. But then it ended. Misty Moors had been no more. Chase was gone. Icyen coped with it, his heart freezing over again, never allowing anyone inside.
Was she still here? Icyen dared asked himself. What will I say to her? and worst of all, What if she has forgotten about me?
Icyen pushed this last question out of his mind. Of course Chase would remember him. But he couldn't help but wonder.

Brown orbs peered out causually from a small section of reeds, the large, white fae found herself holding her breath, staring at the brute in the water in disbelief.
My eyes... They decieve me. But the smell.. The smell is the same. Chase thought, clawing into the soft dirt.
She blinked hard then swallowed the lump in her throat. I wonder if he'll remember me? She thought as she emerged from the reeds...
(ooc- rubbish post, I know... But yea)

{Sokay. I have days like that.}
Icyen jerked his head away from the perch. He smelled something. And heard something. Who could it be? Moon? Qi? No. They went their seperate ways, to explore the land. He inhaled deeply through his nose. Chase? It couldn't be. It wasn't. But his nose and his ears never decieved him. So it had to be, but it couldn't be.
He turned his head to the source. Squinting his eyes into the bushes, He searched. Two brown eyes stared back at him. It was. "Chase?" he said, trying to hide his excitement and utterly failing. He rose, leaving the forgotten perch on the ground. "Is that you?"

Chase's hackles rose involuntarily as her name, daggers bared. She knew the scent was familair, but this wolf, this wolf she hadn't seen for so long was so.. Familair, yet unfamiliar.
"Icyen." She murmered, smoothing down her hackles and sheathing her daggers. A calm look suddenly overcame her and she felt tears burn into her eyes.
"Icyen, is that you? It... it's been so long." She whispered.

"It is." Icyen sat abruptly lookig away until he was master of his expression again. Tears stung his eyes.
" Uhhhh. Are you hungry?" he asked haltingly. He motiond to the halfeaten perch. "I'll catch you one. "
Fishing was high on Icyen's skill list. But now that Chase was here, he did not know if he could again. Catching that perch seemed like days ago. His legs went numb | You idiot! Where's your composure? Your PRIDE?! You're embarrassing yourself, and that's bad. Do something cool, and FAST! | he thought at himself.
"How long has it been, exactly?" he asked. Where the HECK did that come from?

Chase narrowed her orbs slightly, but shook her head. True, she was hungry, but now, she really wasn't hungry for food... Her stomach twistd uneasily.
"Yes, it's been a long time... Too long." She breathed softly.
She blinked hard, looking around. All those miles that had passed under her paws, all those lone;y nights.. Where was he?
She sniffed slightly, widening her orbs so the tears that stung them wouldn't emerge.
She stood and tested the wind, smelling the scents of home. Keeper and Taint are still here, mates and alphas as I remember. Feathers... Blue, their scents are faint, but Ghost.. His scent is strong. Bullet is still here, and Lou... but the third? What was her name? Jewel? Her scent is faint as well... And there is another scent... She gasped slightly. Keeper is a father! I'm an aunt! She moved restlessly for a moment, letting the news sink in. He's very lucky...
She shook her head and resumed her seat on the ground, in front of Icyen. She had a question and was going to rather blunt about it:
"Icyen... After all those years.. Do you still love-" Tears pricked her eyes once again and a silvery tear floated down her soft fur.
"me?" she whispered.

ooc: -creeps back onto board- Don't worry Chase! I'm not gonna call you soft... soft. hehe. I ish just posting Cotton!
bic: Large paws pounded the earth, long limbs taking large strides as a youthful wolf bounded through the undergrowth. She was agile, despite the fact that her legs were out of proportion to her slender body, and she wove in and out of trees with ease, never slowing her swift pace.
Her coat was mainly a rich brown in colour, altough her ears, maw, paws and tail were tipped in a shimmering silver colour. Her eyes were a dark mahogany, and they sparkled with curiousity as she shot through the last barriers of foliage, out onto the clear banks of Mirror Lake.
Cotton slowed to a trot, then to a walk. Her head swung to the left, following her nose's lead, and her dark eyes fell on Chase and Icyen. They looked very... deep. Staring at each other as if nothing else existed. Cotton widened her eyes and turned to her brother. She lifted a paw and placed it over her lips, deciding to wait until the two wolves were less... occupied to speak to them.
She could still scent the strange smell that was neither familiar or alien, but here it was much stronger, and she decided it must be coming from one of the two strange wolves.

"Do you still love me?"
The words hung in the air like a dark veil. Icyen, quite surprised, looked at her incredulosly.(sp?) But his eyes softened, and he stood, taking a step towards her. A small, happy smile crept onto his face as he stood in front of her. All his embarassment and other emotions seemed to melt away.
"Of course,"he said, and his fear suddenly returned, and he half-turned his face away from her."I can only hope you still feel the same way about me." He looked at her sort of meekly, laying down on the moist earth and looking up at Chase with ice-blue eyes. He was afraid. Not of being attacked or killed, but of his heart being broken again. It had already broken once.
So he lay, eyes upturned, heart beating at a million miles a secound, and legs shaking a bit, awaiting an answer.
{ Sorry for the belated reply. I slept over at a friend's house. ^^;; }

A female stood in a few shrubs, staring out over the lake. Like all by-standers, she was staring directly at Icyen and Chase.
But, probably unlike them, she knew them both, one nearly as a brother. She forced a smile, as she looked around cautiously.
Her eyes scanned over the trees and bushes, not seeing much of anything, as she focused her attention back to Icyen and Chase. She smiled, again, eyebrows curving in, as a tear nearly came to her eyes. "No matter what you think.." She said, as lightly as she could, "She will always love you," She paused again, looking up to the sky. "Icyen."

Chase gulped softly and nodded, fresh tears springing in her eyes.
"Icyen, of course I still love you.. I've been looking for you, forever. When you left, I went to find you. And now, I have. You returned to me. She responded weakly.
She got up, unaware of the many eyes upon them and walked over to Icyen and placed her head on his shoulder.
"I will always love you."
(ooc- -gags and grabs paper bag- Mushy, mushy, mushy!!!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Solo trotted behind Cotton, nose high in the air, trying to figure out what the smell was.
It smells like da, but more different... He thought.
He didn't notice that Cotton had stopped and breifly, he knocked into her.
"Cotton!" He gasped, but then noticed the two newcomers standing, and embracing each other...
Solo turned up his nose and looked at Cotton, and gagged...
{ Nyah. J00 WILL ALL WILT WAITING FOR MEEEE! Muahahah. ;D }
I will always love you...
It was true. She did love him, still, after their rapid departure. He let her rest her head on his shoulder, and realized how ragged and worn she was. Fury. Rage. Why was she like this? Food, she needed food, no matter ho much she protested, her drawn figure alerted Icyen that she hadn't eaten yet.
{ Uuhm. If you don't like that part, I'll take it out. Bit 'o powerplaying...}
"Come," he said, gesturing with his muzzle to the lake on his left. "You need food. I'll catch you a--a perch. How's that sound?" he asked, his brow contracting and his lips drawing together with a look of concern.
But altogether, Icyen was elated that Chase was still alive, reasonably well, and still LOVED him. Still did!
{ Behold, over-protective/over-possesive Icyen!! Kneel! KNEEL! o.o' Think I had too much soda..... }
(ooc- Nah, thats fine... Chase has been a bit raggled and junk, so yea)
Chase stepped back from Icyen and found his eyes going over her rough frame. She hung her head slightly, a bit upset at herself at letting herself go that far downhill. She had been worried for Icyen, so worried that she failed to take care of herself on the road. She ate, yes, but only when pressing hunger drove her too. Her once sparkling silvery-white coat was covered in mud and unkept, her ribs poking through.
"Icyen, you don't have to.. I'm fine." She breathed, looking away at the water.
"Yes, Chase, I do. You look--well, lest just say you've seen better days. Come," he said, quite fatherly. "At least take a swim. It'll be good for you." Icyen stood with a wide stance, and nudged Chase toward the lake. "The water's warm."
He walked a few steps ahead of her, turned, and looked back, waiting.
{ BAHHHH! -stabs shortness- Yeah, I thought so, Chase looks kind of bedraggled in her picture. ;D }
Ember smiled, looking up at Icyen. "Toldya." She said, playfully, as she looked back down at the ground.
Would she ever be loved? Would someone ever love someone so coldhearted as her? Icyen had found love, did that mean she could? She often wondered these things, and told them to Malachi. He had acted as a father and a brother, Ember was the only one he supported.
Ember stared up at Icyen again, forcing a smile, as her tail slowly fell between he legs.
I'm sorry, Malachi. But this is how my life is laid out.. She thought to herself, as she turned from Icyen and Chase, tears of sadness falling from her cheeks. I'm staying at Misty Moors, Malachi. I'm staying without a doubt.
ooc|Beh. Short, like all my other posts. Yes, I did mean for her thoughts to rhyme, just adds more to the drama. xDD
Cotton stumbled to the side as Solo knocked into her, and a loud giggle escaped her lips, which she quickly muffled. Shooting a glance at Icyen and Chase, she was relieved to see that neither of them had been phased by the sudden, merry noise, as caught up in one another as they were.
She stifled another giggle as her brother pretended to gag and nudged his muzzle with her own, eyes shining with surpressed laughter.
"Insensitive brute." She breathed in his ear, grinning.
"Toldya."
Cotton hadn't noticed Ember's voice before, but now, as she spoke once again, the youngster's head turned. Her eyes searched the undergrowth until she caught sight of a glimpse of fur. She turned to Solo and beckoned with her muzzle to the bushes, then padded softly towards them.
"Hello?" She hissed softly, sticking her head into the foliage, unwilling to disturb the happy couple. Her lids slid shut, protecting sensitive orbs from sharp sticks, then her face emerged from the twiggy barrier and she opened her eyes to be faced with a mass of fur, nose twitching as it sank into Ember's pelt.
Cotton widened her mahogany occuli and stumbled backwards suddenly, surprised at how close she had ended up to the strange wolf. She stood and blinked, recovering from the mild shock.
"Hello?" She whispered again, this time staying on her side of the bush.
